Knowing the Drill
Often, hot political issues in the states slowly nudge their way into national political discourse. The exact opposite seems to be happening with offshore oil drilling, however.
First, John McCain and congressional Republicans started talking about it. Now it's becoming a hot topic in state races. Just look at this recent ad from Pat McCrory, the Republican nominee for governor in North Carolina:
