FL Gay Marriage: Very, Very Close

While California has gotten most of the attention for its gay marriage ballot measure (with good reason), Florida has a really interesting vote too. The measure would pass easily, except that Florida (in a change that was made just a few years ago) requires 60% for constitutional amendments to pass.

What does the exit poll on the Florida vote say? It's passing with 61% of the vote from men and 60% of the vote from women, according to CNN.

About

GOVERNING Politics is the place for news and analysis on campaigns and elections. If there's a ballot measure in California, a legislative election in Alabama, a mayoral election in Anchorage or a governor's race in Rhode Island, GOVERNING Politics probably is writing about it. We love everything about state and local politics, from polls and campaign ads to policy debates and demographic trends.
