Radio Here's a new one (as far as I know): The Los Angeles Economic County Economic Development Corporation is taking to the airwaves and the Web with a talk radio program meant to highlight the ways in which NIMBYism interferes with California's ability to cope with growth.

"Though many Californians understand the benefits of such growth, many do not want it to occur near them," says LAEDC President Bill Allen in a press release. "The resulting debate becomes dominated by NIMBY attitudes and short-term decisions. We hope our new campaign can help inform a more constructive dialogue as our communities debate options to deal with California's growth."

The leading sponsor for this enterprise will shock and amaze you: It's the Building Industry Association's L.A./Ventura chapter.
