State Legislatures Anticipate High Turnover of Staffs



State legislatures are ramping up recruiting after a survey of legislative staff managers showed younger employees wanting to leave their jobs and a large cadre of veteran, baby-boomer staffers approaching retirement age. Two-thirds of non-partisan staff and three-fourths of partisan staff expect to leave their jobs by 2021, according to the survey by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).
