States along the East Coast were pummeled by post-tropical storm Sandy as it came crashing ashore.
The storm officially made landfall along the coast of southern New Jersey, but it is affecting a much wider area with nearly 6.5 million customers without power across 13 states and the District of Columbia.
At least 13 people have died and Presdient Obama has declared states of emergency for at least five states and the nation's capital.
