COVID-19 Causes AARP to Suspend Tax Preparation Sites

The American Association of Retired Persons will suspend all tax prep activities in the United States, including several in Oregon. The suspension will likely last through the remaining tax season.

(TNS) — AARP has suspended all tax preparation activities across the U.S., including the seven in Jackson County, due to coronavirus concerns.

The suspension will likely last through the remainder of the 2019-20 tax season, according to a news release.

"We don’t know at this time whether Tax-Aide operations will start up again in some or all locations for the remainder of the tax season, or if the tax season is extended," a post on AARP's Facebook page reads. "We’ll continue to monitor and assess, and will post an update if sites reopen."

The Oregon Department of Revenue's website has a list of free e-filing sites for taxpayers. Visit https://www.oregon.gov/dor/Pages/index.aspx for more information.
