80 hours

The number of work or training hours Missouri adults without dependents must complete each month to keep their food benefits under new state rules that took effect Nov. 1. The policy requires able-bodied Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients to show proof of at least 80 hours of employment, job training, or community service monthly. The new requirement coincides with a potential lapse in federal SNAP funding due to the ongoing government shutdown, creating added uncertainty for 650,000 residents who rely on SNAP.
