The increase in wholesale turkey prices this year, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation, as avian flu and respiratory viruses continue to strain U.S. turkey farms. Despite the spike, prices remain 32 percent lower than in 2022, when supply chain disruptions and disease outbreaks drove record costs. The bureau notes that while production challenges persist, consumers are unlikely to see the extreme shortages experienced during the pandemic years.
