223,000

The number of New Yorkers who cast ballots during the first three days of early voting in the city’s closely watched mayoral race. Turnout has far surpassed the 94,000 who voted early in June’s Democratic primary — and even topped the entire early voting total from the 2021 general election. Voters 55 and older made up just over half of the weekend’s ballots, according to a Gothamist/WNYC analysis, suggesting strong participation among older, more moderate voters in a race featuring Democrat Zohran Mamdani, independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
