The passage threshold that an amendment will need to receive from voters to successfully amend the Ohio state Constitution under a proposed, controversial measure; currently just 50 percent plus one is needed to pass.

The measure, passed by 62 Republican House members on Wednesday, May 10, could be put to a vote in an August special election. The new requirement would also require petition signatures from all 88 counties, whereas petitioners currently only have to collect signatures in 44 counties.
