The amount that Maine may set aside in each of the next two fiscal years to pay crab and lobster fishermen to test new fishing technologies and comply with new rules designed to protect vanishing North Atlantic right whales. The proposal passed the state Legislature’s marine resources committee with unanimous approval and will now proceed to the full Legislature.
