In Indiana, 5 GOP Officials Step Down
The scope of the changeover shocked some party insiders.
Indiana Republican Party Chairman Eric Holcomb and two other state committee officers plan to step down as part of several changes announced Wednesday to state committee members.
The coming departures of Holcomb, Vice Chairwoman Sandi Huddleston and Treasurer Peter Deputy — three of the four state committee officers — could give Gov. Mike Pence a chance to make his mark on the future of his state party by influencing the leadership selection. Pence took office in January.
Also announcing their departures were former Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman, one of Indiana’s two appointees to the Republican National Committee, and Executive Director Justin Garrett.
