Former Washington Gov. Locke to Be Tapped as Ambassador to China

President Obama plans to nominate Commerce Secretary Gary F. Locke, a former governor of Washington State and one of the highest-ranking Chinese-Americans in Obama's administration, as the next American ambassador to China. Locke would succeed former Utah Gov. Jon M. Huntsman Jr., who is stepping down next month to explore a bid for the Republican nomination for president.
