Larger icons represent areas with higher total percentages of residents who either walk, bike, use public transit or other alternate means of transportation besides driving as their primary method of commuting to work. The Census Bureau's survey recorded a single transportation type for a person's longest distance traveled, so workers riding bikes to subways typically count only as public transit commuters.
