The amount that Southern California Edison has agreed to pay to cover costs and damages from the 2017 Thomas Fire, a large wildfire in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties that killed two people and later caused massive mudslides that killed 23. The wildfire was caused by two Southern California Edison power lines slapping together. It ended up burning more than 280,000 acres and destroyed more than 1,000 structures.
