The number of ballots from November’s election seized by Sheriff Chad Bianco, a leading Republican candidate for governor in the state. Bianco says he is investigating alleged irregularities in the special election approving California’s mid-decade redistricting measure. Critics, including the state attorney general, have accused Bianco of trying to drum up attention ahead of the gubernatorial primary by leaning into false claims of voter fraud."There is no indication, anywhere in the United States, of widespread voter fraud," said California Attorney General Rob Bonta. "Counts, recounts, hand counts, audits, and court cases all support this."
