That’s the share of Americans who disapprove of President Donald Trump’s handling of tariffs, according to a Washington Post–ABC News–Ipsos poll released last week. The public disapproval comes as the Supreme Court of the United States voted 6-3 to strike down Trump’s sweeping tariffs on imports from countries including China, Canada and Mexico. The ruling erased a central pillar of Trump’s economic agenda, which has drawn criticism from voters concerned about rising prices and skepticism about whether tariffs help U.S. manufacturers.
