Share of Americans who approve of President Donald Trump’s decision to take control of Washington, D.C.’s local police force and deploy 800 National Guard troops to the city, according to an Aug. 11 YouGov poll. A larger share, 47 percent, said they disapprove of the move, which is legal under the D.C. Home Rule Act, while 20 percent were unsure.
