When the water utility investigated after nearby residents reported unusually low water pressure, officials discovered two industrial-scale water hookups feeding the data center campus, one of them installed without the utility’s knowledge and the other not linked to the company’s account. The developer was billed $147,474 for the unmetered water consumption, which the water system director blamed on a procedural mix-up.
