The number of states where the minimum wage will increase next month, alongside raises in 49 cities and counties, according to a new report from the National Employment Law Project. Despite the federal minimum wage remaining at $7.25 since 2009, state and local governments continue to enact scheduled and inflation-linked increases, with 88 jurisdictions set to raise wages by the end of 2026.
