The number of states that publicly disclose which companies receive data center tax incentives. A new report from Good Jobs First finds that while 36 states offer subsidies tailored to data center development, only 11 reveal which firms benefit. As data center projects surge nationwide to meet rising tech demands, the watchdog group warns that nondisclosure agreements, code names and subsidiaries routinely obscure the companies behind these multibillion-dollar deals, even as states compete aggressively to land them.
