The proportion of hate crimes in the U.S. that take place at schools, from kindergarten through college. Black students are the most frequent targets of these attacks, followed by Jewish and LGBTQ students. Schools were the third most frequent location for hate crimes between 2018 and 2022, despite months of closures due to the coronavirus pandemic during the 2020-2021 school year.
