This bill proposed to create a new special registration plate with the choice of one of six emojis in addition to the distinctive number assigned by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles or the numerals and letters selected by the registered owner.

The short explanation of Vermont emoji bill — more formerly known as Bill H866. The bill, introduced by state Rep. Rebecca White, would make Vermont the first U.S. state to allow emojis on license plates, though an Australian state already allows them. Vermont hasn’t said how much it will cost to have an emoji on your license plate nor has it said which six emojis drivers will be able to choose from. (Engadget — January 27, 2020)
