Nobel-prize-winning scientist and former director of the National Institutes of Health Harold Varmus, and Rajiv Shah, the former administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, commenting in a recent opinion piece that strongly encourages state and local leaders to disregard the CDC’s regulations and guidelines which, many believe, will make the pandemic worse.
