The predicted number of inches of rain that the foothills and mountains in Northern California is expected to receive this weekend as back-to-back “atmospheric rivers” bring heavy precipitation to central and northern regions of the state. In January, the state had three weeks of atmospheric rivers, dumping more than 32 trillion gallons of water across California, which caused flooding, evacuations and power outages.
