The proportion of all Pennsylvania school board seats that were up for election on Nov. 7 that were won by Republican candidates, as compared to Democrats’ 39 percent. In total, Pennsylvania held 1,059 school board elections for 60 percent of the 4,338 total seats. However, of the 499 districts that hold elections, registered Republicans are either a majority or plurality of voters in 355 of them.
