The rate increase that some parishes in southeast Louisiana will experience for flood insurance as part of FEMA’s new Risk Rating 2.0 pricing plan for the National Flood Insurance Program. The increase has led 10 states and dozens of municipalities to sue the Biden administration. On average, the rate will increase more than 100 percent in coastal states like Louisiana and Florida.
