The increase in fatal overdoses among Black people in 2020 as compared to the year prior, according to new analysis from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The analysis also found that American Indian and Alaska Native people saw sharp increases in drug overdose deaths, with a 39 percent increase over 2019.
