The amount that the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum is offering for the first 1 kilogram of meteorite found, after a rare fireball was seen streaking across the northern Maine sky last week. The museum is home to the world’s largest rock specimens of the moon and Mars and is willing to purchase other fragments of the meteorite as well.
