The number of individuals who had their sentences commuted by outgoing Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, reducing their death row sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Brown will also dismantle the state execution chamber in an effort to effectively end capital punishment in the state. The death penalty has been nearly abolished in the state.
