The amount that Stacey Abrams has suggested that Georgia use to expand Medicaid and give raises to public workers, like teachers, state police and prison guards. The money would come from the state’s $7 billion budget surplus. Gov. Brian Kemp is expected to announce his own proposal for the funds on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022.
