Rochester: Reducing Regulatory Burden for Local Small Businesses

The city of Rochester is a finalist for this year's City Accelerator project, which is focused on helping cities build and grow their network of local businesses and entrepreneurs of color. Cities that are chosen for the project will receive valuable support and resources from experts and peers to help them achieve their goals.

What is Rochester proposing?

The city of Rochester proposes an effort to reduce the regulatory burden for local small businesses, particularly Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises. The goal is to improve access to business capital support, and enhance local procurement policies and processes to support underrepresented entrepreneurs—helping them navigate local, state, and federal regulations, and take advantage of available business technical assistance.
