What is El Paso proposing?
The city of El Paso proposes enhancing the services offered to local entrepreneurs through the El Paso Public Library WorkPLACE program (Public Literacy Access for Careers and Entrepreneurship). This partnership, modeled after community partnerships led by other urban libraries, would extend economic and educational assistance through small business development and workforce agencies.

On: 06-19-2018The library is the epicenter for public learning. A library is not just a place where books are shelved but a source of knowledge - whether it be literature, art, or instruction and print, digital, or interactive. Any further initiatives by the City for their public libraries are excellent means to encouraging public learning.

On: 06-19-2018I was unaware that the Libraries in El Paso provided such a wide range of programs. I have always been a great supporter and advocate for the Public Library, it is a great place to go relax and be transported to faraway places via books. I am very happy that the El Paso Public Libraries have committed to further the education of the citizens of our region.

On: 06-19-2018As the Library Literacy Coordinator, I can attest to the empowering effect libraries have on individuals, families, neighborhoods and the community as a whole. Countless individuals have taken advantage of the adult literacy services offered by the El Paso Public Library since 1989 when the program was established. The El Paso Public Library Literacy Center assists individuals of all ages to find the services and resources they need to learn how to read and write, to become U.S. citizens, to obtain their GED, to become computer literate, to know how to use the library, and to help them achieve their goals and develop their knowledge and potential.
