Charles Sallee is the deputy director of the New Mexico Legislative Finance Committee, overseeing budget development and formerly conducting and overseeing program evaluations of state agencies, higher education and public schools. He has served on the committee’s staff for 16 years, including 11 in his current role.

Previously, Sallee served as a policy analyst for the Texas legislature’s Sunset Commission and as executive director of Court Appointed Special Advocates in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He holds a master’s degree in social work from Texas State University, San Marcos, and a bachelor’s degree in social work from New Mexico State University.
