Chris Sprowls, a Republican, is serving his third term as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, where he chairs the Rules Committee. He is expected to become speaker of the House following the November 2020 elections.
Sprowls currently practices law in Tampa. Previously, he served as an assistant state attorney, prosecuting criminal cases in the Sixth Judicial Circuit covering Pasco and Pinellas counties. He earned his law degree from Stetson University, where he was elected national chairman of the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association, and received his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida.
