Laurie Thomas is the chief deputy treasurer of Kootenai County, Idaho. With 91,000 parcels and an assessable value of nearly $12.5 billion and property-tax revenues of $165 million, Kootenai has the second-highest net taxable property value of all of Idaho's counties. She is responsible for preparing and issuing tax bills as well as collection and deposits of all county tax payments.
Thomas is a Certified Finance Executive and a certified county investment officer. She serves as president of the Tax User Group for Thomson Reuters and formerly served as staff assistant and regional director for U.S. Sen. Larry Craig.
