Jim Talent, a former U.S. senator from Missouri, currently serves as co-chair of Americans for Energy Security and Innovation and is a commissioner of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission. In the Senate, Talent championed creation of the Renewable Fuel Standard in 2005 and served on the Armed Services, Energy and Natural Resources, and Agriculture committees.
Before being elected to the Senate in 2002, Talent served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives and eight years in the Missouri House, the last four as the senior Republican leader. He earned his bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. He tweets at @JimTalent.
