Jeremy Smith is associate director of the Aspen Institute's Financial Security Program. Before joining FSP, he served as director of strategic initiatives at the Pew Charitable Trusts. He also was deputy director for government relations at the Service Employees International Union and worked in international affairs at the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Smith was a co-author of the 2006 study "Financial Access for Immigrants: Lessons from Diverse Perspectives." He holds master's degrees in business and Latin-American studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
