Isaiah J. Poole is editorial manager for the Democracy Collaborative and its research arm, the Next System Project. Before joining the Democracy Collaborative in 2018, he was communications director for People's Action and for the Campaign for America's Future.
Poole has more than 30 years of experience in journalism, both as a reporter covering Washington D.C.-area and national politics and as a news and features editor. He also was a founding member of both the Washington Association of Black Journalists and the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association. More recently, he has served on the board of the Urban Village Corporation, which oversees an affordable-housing complex in Washington, D.C.'s Columbia Heights neighborhood.
