John Engler, who served three terms as governor of Michigan, is president of Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. corporations. Previously, Engler was president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers. He was honored in 2001 as a Governing Public Official of the Year.

Engler was Michigan's governor from 1991 until 2003 after serving for 20 years in the Michigan legislature, including seven years as state Senate majority leader. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
