Donald R. Hoffman is past president of the American Nuclear Society and co-chair of the its Special Committee on Nuclear in the States. He is the chairman of the Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium Authority and president and CEO of EXCEL Services Corporation, a nuclear consulting firm. He is also president of the Eagle Alliance, a grassroots organization that represents all facets of nuclear science and technology.
Hoffman served in the U.S. Navy as a senior submarine nuclear-reactor operator and engineering officer. He also served as a branch chief and lead reviewer at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, reviewing license applications and technical specifications.
