wingsofhope.jpg Ohio officials are getting flak for a state-produced CD of children's music, made by inmates in Ohio prisons.

The disc, entitled "Wings of Hope," was put together by a number of incarcerated felons, including one who was sentenced for 12 years to life in 1981 for kidnapping two children, assaulting a boy, and raping a 13-year-old girl.

This CD project seems like an ill-conceived idea all around. I mean, I totally get the ire over having a convicted child sex offender attached to the project. But why would the state think it's a good idea for any criminals to be singing to kids on a CD?  Who thought this was a good plan?
