1940 County Census Records

Want to know what life was like in your community back in 1940?

The Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research collected and categorized 1940 census records. We’ve compiled select county census data into the tool below.

For most counties, data includes population, native born residents, labor force statistics, home values, and numbers of retail stores and manufacturing establishments.
