Boston Chief Information Officer Santiago “Santi” Garces oversees the city’s Department of Innovation and Technology. He is a Senior Fellow with Data-Smart City Solutions at the Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University.
A former executive director of the South Bend, Ind., Department of Community Investment, he also has served as CIO of South Bend and of Pittsburgh. Before working in civic tech, Garces helped found enFocus, a nonprofit dedicated to providing innovative solutions for government and industry.
