Circuit Judge Kevin Martens advised Walker and a dozen other jurors selected late Monday to arrive promptly at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for the start of what's expected to be a two-day trial.
The governor will be hearing a personal injury lawsuit filed by Carri and Michael Natarelli and their insurance company against Gabriel Deltoro and his insurer. Martens cautioned jurors not to watch or read any media about the case, though he said he doubted there'd be any media interest in it.
Walker chatted with several jurors seated near him during a lengthy break in which lawyers were huddling with the judge in chambers.
After not getting picked for a murder trial Monday morning, Walker said he'd been called for jury duty twice before — once during his eight-year tenure as Milwaukee County executive and once while he served as an Assembly representative. He didn't get picked to sit on a case during those stints, and said it was "not too much of a surprise" that he was passed over in the morning.
