When you come to a scene where somebody is in a mental crisis, and the only tool you have to deal with it is a gun ... where are the proper tools for the job?
Shaka Johnson, the attorney for the family of Walter Wallace Jr., a Black man who was fatally shot by Philadelphia police officers on Monday. Wallace’s family says he was having a mental health crisis at the time of the incident which was causing him to wield a knife and ignore orders from police to drop the weapon.
