The Forever Stamp is meant to celebrate the centennial of Reagan’s birth, on July 6, 1921, which was delayed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but many members of the LGBTQ+ community feel as though it is a “slap in the face” due to the Reagan administration’s slow response to the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 1980s which, many in the community believe, cost tens of thousands of lives.
