The percentage of 48 economists surveyed by the National Association for Business Economics who envision that a recession will have begun by the end of March of this year, a decrease from the 50 percent of economists who thought so in December. One-third of those surveyed believed that a recession would begin in the second quarter of the year, while one-fifth of the respondents believed it would start in the July-September quarter.
