Neal Halfon


Dr. Neal Halfon is a professor of pediatrics, health services and public policy at the University of California at Los Angeles. As director of the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities, he leads the Transforming Early Childhood Community Systems initiative.

Halfon served as a member of the Board on Children, Youth, and Families at the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council. He also directs the Maternal and Child Health Bureau-funded National Center for Infant and Early Childhood Health Policy.

Halfon earned his medical degree from UC-Davis and his master's degree in public health from UC-Berkeley. He was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at both UC-San Francisco and Stanford University.
