Michael Jacobson is the deputy director for performance and strategy in the King County, Wash., Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget, where he has led the development of key elements of the county's performance management system. His contributions to the field were recognized in 2013 with the American Society for Public Administration's Harry Hatry Distinguished Performance Measurement Practice Award.

Jacobson holds a bachelor's degree in biology and environmental studies from Trinity College and master's degrees in marine affairs and international studies from the the University of Washington.
